Actress Vidya Balan and her father PR Balan have joined hands with actor Farhan Akhtar. It is not for any film but , to support Farhan Akhtar’s initiative MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination).
Farhan Akhtar has recently launched a new campaign. The actress has extended her support to the campaign ‘Bus Ab Bahut Hogaya — Enough is Enough’ which is led by Population Foundation of India (PFI). Vidya Balan will shoot for a special video with her father for the initiative. The video has been directed by Ashish Sawhny and will be released around Father’s Day on June 18.
Speaking about the video Vidya said, “This is a very special video because it encapsulates the strength of my bond with my father. But there is a larger message too — of the value of the girl child. That discrimination between girls and boys has to stop.”
Vidya Balan’s father will be speaking about the sheer delight of being a father to two girls. He also reveals that he was brought up by a single mother. His daughters actress Vidya Balan and her elder sister Priya Balan will also be sharing stories from their lives.
The campaign aims to eliminate violence against women and girls and will include other films, as well as an anthem and a concert.
