A total of Seven coaches of the Howrah-Jabalpur-Shaktipunj Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. No injuries has been reported till now.
Just after leaving the Obra station at 6:13 a.m,the seven coaches from the rear end of Train no. 11448 derailed.
With the help of the onboard TTE and staff, all passengers of the affected coaches were adjusted in the front area of the train. Additional coaches will also be attached at Singrauli for the convenience of the passengers. Arrangements for tea and breakfast have also been made.
However the first reports say that the rail tracks were removed. However, East Central Railway Spokesperson Rajesh Kumar ruled out the possibility of broken tracks, and said, “The matter is under investigation. We can only comment after the enquiry is complete,”
Shaktipunj Express is just an example. UP has been threatened by constant railways accidents. However, the accidents are not major, but lives of people cannot be taken for granted. UP railways have to become more aware about the possible problems and apply protective measures to it.
