Sanjay Kapoor is all set for his comeback to the small screen that too, after 13 years. This TV show is tentatively titled as Ishq Gunaah and is directed by a Bengali filmmaker Abhijit Das. Vikram Bhatt is the creative director of this show. We can say this show is touted as an Indian adaptation of a Turkish romantic-drama, Ask-i Memnu.
Sanjay Kapoor’s last TV show was Karishma: A Miracle of Destiny and was previously seen on the big screen in Alia Bhatt-Shahid Kapoor starrer Shandaar. Vikram Bhatt is the showrunner for this new TV show Ishq Gunaah. Smriti Kalra will be playing Sanjay’s love interest.
We will find Niki Aneja and Aashim Gulati playing crucial characters in Vikram’s screenplay. Also, Indraneel Bhattacharya and Roma Bali will be seen playing the role of rich parents to Puneet Sharma.
“I really liked the story of a girl who marries someone twice her age and is trying hard to keep it going. The show is unique as it dwells on the significance of intimacy in a marriage. Sanjay and Smriti’s characters face this conflict. I have always said that yesterday’s bold conversation is today’s important conversation. I get the feeling that they (the audience) are being involuntarily pushed into regressive entertainment” Vikram Bhatt said with regards to Ishq Gunaah.
Vikram Bhatt also supported his argument for choosing Sanjay Kapoor as the lead character of the show as he and the team of Ishq Gunaah accordingly felt that Kapoor will fit perfectly for the role of a debonair 40-plus male.
Also, the director allegedly feels that he doesn’t particularly know what will work on the best in TV, however, he feels that the present day viewers are ready to see something fresh with new narration in the entertainment field. He also added that he is definitely going to add something from his personal experiences for creating the show.
Talking about Bhatt’s past records, he has directed a horror series in the year 2011 which was called as Anhoniyon Ka Andhera and hosted Ishq Kills in the year 2014 which was based on crime-thriller genre.
