It seems like CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani is grabbing headlines lately and how! He’s currently been in the news for demanding 48 cuts in Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming movie ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaas’. Earlier to this he had asked to cut the word ‘intercourse’ from ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ mini trail. In fact, he created such a huge controversy over that one word and asked to make 1 lakh votes in support of them to pass the word in the trailer of the film.
When Mirror Now got him all those votes, they sent a report to make Nihalani abide by his statement. It was a female reporter who went on questioning the visibly annoyed Nihalani. She constantly kept asking, “The youth is with us. What do you have to say?”
Nihalani kept staying silent during the whole scene and pretended as if he didn’t hear the reporter at all. In the end, he gets off the elevator without answering about anything.
This particular video went viral on social media. After which Nihalani got trolled for challenging people and then avoiding answering questions in shame. Looks like he knows how to grab the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
Now, after all those weeks of the incident, Nihalani has filed a police complaint against the same reporter Himanshi Chaudhary of Mirror alleging harassment, intimidation and breach of privacy. The complaint has been lodge at the Girgaum police station. Reports also say that he has accused her of bullying his staff and breaking his office.
One of the reports quotes Nihalani’s written complaint. He’s said, Whenever she sees me, she enters into the lift with me and switches on her camera and continuously pesters me to speak while I choose to remain silent. She portrays me in a derogatory and humiliating manner on television and is blotting my image.”
Well, we shall wait for further developments on this now.
