Atul Tapkir, producer of a Marathi film ‘Dhol Taashe’ ended his life and left the entire industry in dismay. He killed himself by consuming poison in a hotel. Before making this decision, he posted a suicide note on his Facebook.
This 35 year-old-man wrote about the losses in his business and disputes back home. He also mentioned about how he was mentally harassed by his wife and family even after he got some recognition from his last film.
A little bit from his suicide note read, “For six months, I’ve been driven away from my home, and my wife has refused access to my children….I am now joining my (deceased) mother,” while he also went on to thank his father and sister to always stand by him.

Atul’s body was found lying on the bed of his room at President Hotel in Karve Road. Since Atul did not report to the hotel staff in the morning, the management asked for police help after which they had to break open his hotel room door at around 10:35am only to find him dead. The body was there since the past two days.
The police is now verifying all the allegations that Atul has mentioned in his note and will then take actions accordingly.
