Choose Eco-Ganesha Idols For This Upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is about to come in few days and devotees are quite excited to welcome Ganpati Bappa into their homes. They all are planning to have a grand celebration on this occasion and to make this celebration a successful one. Union Cabinet Minister for Chemicals, Fertilisers and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananthkumar urges people to go for eco-friendly Ganesha idols.

Thus sharing an important message on Twitter the BJP MP from Bengaluru mentioned: “I urge all my fellow citizens to adopt “ECO-GANESHA” idol for this Puja”.

Not only this, he also shared an article by an NGO which highlighted how Lord Ganesha is the “God of nature”. Also, represented various “natural elements”, and suggested that using harmful, artificial ingredients cannot please the Hindu God.  

And his Tweet received a great response and people praises him for this beneficial initiative. In the last two years, different leaders, actors and famous personalities have shown their effort in reminding people, their responsibilities towards nature.

And this is not for the first time a minister has approached to feature the benefits of using eco-friendly idols. In the previous year in an address to the nation on Mann Ki Baat, PM Narendra Modi also urged the citizens to use idols which are made of natural clay.   

And this year, the Ganesha idol made of cow-dung is also gaining popularity. Nilesh Tupe who is an auditor and owner of cow shelter is feeling privileged in selling Ganpati idols which are made of cow-dung and is sourced from gaushalas in Rajasthan. And with the rising awareness of celebrating eco-friendly Ganeshotsav, this Nerul-resident is offering the devotees a way to go green.

On the other hand, a 30-year-old art director and artist from Lower Parel last year had launched an idol which would grow into a plant once the festival ends. Further, a bakery in Ludhiana had made Ganesha with chocolate.

While the Tree Ganesha was an instant hit with creators reeling under pressure to supply. The chocolate Ganesha idol was to be dissolved in milk and on the 10th day of the festival it was to be dissolved into milkshake and distributed among the citizens as prasad.

Also, the government built small ponds last year to complete the immersion ritual. And many celebrities shared photos of immersing the idol in a tub at home.
