After ‘Piku’, we’ll be seeing Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan pair opposite each other in a film based on Mumbai’s mafia. This untitled movie is going to be co-produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and KriArj Entertainment and is said to be directed by a first time director, Honey Trehan.
The only thing that we know about this film now is that it’ll release on the 2nd of October. And this has been confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The story of this film will be based on ‘Femme Fatale’, which is a part of S Hussain Zaidi’s novel, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Deepika will be playing the role of a feared female don Rahima Khan aka Sapna Didi who made a plan to kill don Dawood Ibrahim to avenge the death of her husband. But in this whole process, she herself gets killed.
It was in reports that Deepika was skeptical about working with first-timer Honey Trehan, but it was the script that amazed her. She’ll start shooting for this film after she finishes ‘Padmavati’.
We can’t wait for the duo to be on screen again.
