Beyond The Clouds, the popular Iranian writer and director Majid Majidi’s upcoming Bollywood film will broadcast its worldwide premier at 61st BFI London Festival. Earlier this, the films first trailer was released on February 10, 2017 by A.R Rahman in Facebook.
BFI London Film Festival is the annual film festival that organizes in U.K in association with British Film Institute. The festival will be held from 4th to 16th of October and will screen 242 films including World, International and European premiere according to the records on deadline.com. The screening of the Beyond The Clouds will Be shown on 13 and 14 October.
The film is an amalgamation of three languages- Hindi, Tamil and English carrying the indigenous taste of India. The story-line is based on the nuances of human relationships. The casting crew of the film comprised of actor Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan. While Ishaan Khattar was confirmed for the movie since from beginning, there were speculations that Deepika Padukone will work in the film as the lady lead, which Majid calms by announcing that the role will be played by Malavika. On his casting crew, Majidi said, “Ishaan is a wonderful boy. He is extremely talented and I feel, he will have a bright future in the film industry”
Majidi is an Oscar winner director and is known for artful creations like Children of Heaven, The Color of Paradise and Baran. Speaking on his reasons to enter as a director in Bollywood, he stated, “Filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, whose work I adore, have represented India’s culture, rich heritage and the lives of common people to a global audience. These visions and images have stayed in my mind for years and cajoled me to make a film in India. Finally, I’m in Mumbai with a lovely team to narrate a story woven around the lives of common people”.
Clare Stewart ,the Festival Director of BFI London Film Festival, has praised the film, “Acclaimed Iranian director Majid Majidi brings a powerful outsider eye to Mumbai in this compelling, visually stunning film driven by an extraordinary debut performance from Ishaan Khattar. Anil Mehta’s breathtaking cinematography and the evocative score by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman bring additional depth to Majidi’s visionary filmmaking and We are very proud to present its World Premiere in Official Competition at the BFI London Film Festival,“- she said.
The film is released by Zee Studios and Eyecandy Films. The head of Zee Studio, Vibha Chopra said , “The film based in Mumbai masterfully captures the depth and simplicity of human emotions. A project which is completely a ‘Make in India’ film helmed by Majidi proves that human emotions know no barriers of language and geography.”
