We recently read about the outcry that people made after AR Rahman‘s Wembley concert. The singer was showered with criticism because people felt he only made it sound like a Tamil concert, which it wasn’t that way.
We were all wondering as to how would Rahman take this criticism. But being the humble person that he is, he took it very lightly and in fact thanked the people who supported him. He is at IIFA in New York, but in a statement, he said, “We try our best. We try to be honest. I love the way how people have supported for all these years without them I’m nothing. I’m grateful to all of them.”
Amongst the people who talked in support of him, a few Bollywood celebs like Priyanka Chopra, singer Chinmayi Sanprada, and several others also spoke up. They even pointed out that the title of the concert itself was in Tamil, ‘Netru, Indru, Naalai’ (yesterday, today, tomorrow) and that only 8 songs out of the 28 songs he sung were in Tamil.
Overlooking at all the negativity, he went on to give yet another beautiful performance at the IIFA Rocks that happened on Friday. He even received awards for his contribution to the Indian cinema in the last 25 years.
His last music composition was for the Sridevi starrer ‘MOM’.
