Vivegaam, an Indian spy thriller casting Ajith Kumar in the lead role with Vivek Oberoi in supporting role has joined the 100 crore club, worldwide. The movie has earned 69 crores in India and 36.50 crores outside India, thus collecting 100 crores worldwide, as per the reports of trade analyst –Ramesh Bala.
The movie was released on 24 August and is directed and written by the director of blockbuster movie ‘Veeram’ and ‘Vedalam’, Shiva. It scored 5.75 crores in its first weekend, breaking records of Chennai till date blockbuster collection of 4 crores at the weekends. The movie earned Rs 48.50 crore from the state of Tamil Nadu only. All thanks to Ajith superstar image.
The movie bags Rs 33.08 crore on its releasing date and Rs 20 crore on its second day, post releasing. However, trade analysts have already forecasted it in 100 crore club by the end of its opening weekend.
Ajith fad star status gave the movie a huge opening, postponing the releasing dates of other movies as they might receive a clash with the stardom of Vivegam. Tickets of the movies had sold in no time, also special screening had done to accommodate the growing demand.
