Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra are in the news, but this time for all the wrong reasons. Reportedly, a businessman filed a complaint against the couple for not paying off their dues which was a whooping amount of Rs 24 lakhs. The complaint was filed against a home shopping channel called Best Deal TV, which is owned by Shilpa and Raj, along-with three other directors named Darshit Shaha, Uday Kothari and Vedant Balli, who are also been included in the list.
Ravi Bhalotia, the businessman who filed the complaint, owns a bed sheet manufacturing unit in Bhiwandi. He claimed that he sold bed sheets through TV channel. His complaint stated that the Gaurav Garg, the former chief executive officer of the firm had contacted him in 2015 May, asking him to deal through Best Deal TV. This, because celebrities like Raj and Shilpa Shetty Kundra were associated with the firm. After this, they avoided paying their dues, for the period between July and September in year 2016. The company had then shut down the channel and now the company owes his Rs. 24.12 lakhs.
But Raj Kundra rubbished the case and tweeted saying, “Sadly It’s so easy to register FIR’s in india a complete misuse of power by a crooked vendor #bhalotia who owes best deal money! Will counter.” [sic]
Adding to which he said, “It is the duty of the cops registering a case to check contracts and if they had they would not have registered this fake case! #sad!!” [sic]
Quoting to Pinkvilla, Raj said, “The vendor is misusing his connections in various stations. We have tight contracts signed and on the contrary this vendor owes us money for not fulfilling orders. Best deal is unfortunately being wound up due to the business failing and we are following the laws of the land to close the various matters properly.” [sic]
He added, “We are filing a case against the vendor tomorrow and my legal team will go and meet the officials who have registered this bogus case.”
Now we only have to wait for the next update!
